Cathay Machinery was established in 1995, resulted from the expansion programmes of its parent company, CATHAY MOTOR COMPANY, founded in Malaysia in 1964. It is also set up to prepare for the advent of the "AFTA" (Asean Free Trade Area). Its objective is to oversee Singapore and other overseas markets particularly, Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, Myanmar, Laos, Cambodia, Hong Kong and Taiwan, using Singapore as the centralised and strategic location.
